FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Charleston Fleet is proud to announce its non-profit of the year, Teacher’s Supply Closet.

Each season the Fleet selects a local nonprofit to partner with in an effort to make an impact in the Charleston community. The mission of Teacher’s Supply Closet is to serve children in the Tri-County area in meeting their educational and creative needs by providing free supplies donated by businesses and individuals. Its vision is for every child in the Tri-County area to have the school supplies they need to succeed in school.

Fleet fans can help make an impact on Teacher’s Supply Closet by donating school supplies at each of the Charleston Fleet's home matches at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium. Fans that donate will receive free admission. Home dates are May 20, June 15, June 30 and July 1.

Here are the top 10 items children need in school: scissors, glue sticks, copy paper, crayons (24 pack), composition notebooks, colored pencils, pink erasers, washable markers, tissue or hand sanitizer and No. 2 pencils.
