Oklahoma City – The Women’s Premier Soccer League will host its 2nd Annual International Combine in conjunction with the 2019 WPSL Championship in Stillwater, Oklahoma on July 19-21, the league announced today.

Andy Vera, Director of International Programs for the WPSL serves as the direct liaison for this event.

International coaches will assist with the combine’s technical aspects with top-level educational instructors handling the classroom sessions. The WPSL has contacted a number of "top-level" European professional clubs that have expressed their intentions to attend. Confirmed teams and organizations attending include; coaches from Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC), Pink Bari (Italian Serie “A”) and Hellas-Verona (Italian Serie “A”) to name a few.

“In my communications with international clubs, the WPSL is well recognized as a leader in women’s football,” Vera said. “We consider the international combine as an educational event which will allow players to showcase their talents to the world while opening new and exciting pathways themselves.”

In addition to field sessions and scrimmages, the combine will provide classroom presentations on topics such as; sports psychology, healthy athlete lifestyles, injury prevention and playing professionally overseas.

The WPSL International Combine is considered one of the largest educational gatherings of amateur players in the world with over 200 athletes expected to attend.
