54 WPSL Alumnae Available for NWSL Expansion Draft

54 Former WPSL Players Available for Selection from Racing Louisville FC in NWSL Expansion Draft

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – The newest member of the Nation Women’s Soccer League, Racing Louisville FC will participate in the first NWSL Expansion Draft in five years, tonight at 7p.m. ET which can be viewed on Twitch.

The nine current NWSL teams were granted the protection of 11 Players/U.S. Allocated Players which can includ two U.S. Allocated Players from the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup and 2020 NWSL Fall Series.  Chicago’s entire roster has been protected as result of an exchange that included sending forwards Yuki Nagasato and Savannah McCaskill to Louisville.

Teams provided a list of “Unprotected Players” whom Louisville is permitted to select two players or one U.S. Allocated Player from each team and a total of two U.S. Allocated Players from the teams collectively. Of the 155 players available for selection from the list, 54 played in the WPSL.

The WPSL Alumnae available from this list represent 29 former and current WPSL teams including Seattle Sounders Women (8), Washington Spirit Reserves (4), Cleveland Ambassadors (3), FC Dallas (3), KC Athletics (3) and five teams from the WPSL Elite League in 2012 (13).

There are 34 alumnae available from the last three seasons including Houston’s Young Player of the Year, Ally Prisock (So Cal FC, 2018) – Prisock was also 2018 Defensive Player of the Year for the Coastal Conference, Sandra Yu (Cleveland Ambassadors, 2017-2019) – Yu was 2019 Offensive Player of the Year for the Ohio Valley Conference, Cami Privett (AHFC Royals) – Privett was 2018 Defensive Player of the Year for the South Texas Conference, and Bridgette Andrzejewski (Washington Spirit Reserves, 2018) – Andrzejewski was 2018 Offensive Player of the Year for the Colonial Conference.

Household names from the U.S. Women’s National Team are also available including Megan Rapinoe (Elk City Pride, 2002-2006 and Seattle Sounders Women, 2012), Tobin Health (New York Fury, 2012) and Adrianna Franch (SoccerPlus CT, 2011).
