THE WPSL UNVEILS THE 2021 SEASON SCHEDULE FOR THE NORTH DIVISION OF THE RED RIVER CONFERENCE

The Season Will Open with a Doubleheader on June 5th

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Women’s Premier Soccer League has announced the schedule for the North Division of the Red River Conference today for the upcoming 2021 season. The Red River Conference features teams based in Oklahoma and Texas and is split between two divisions – North and South.

The North Division will be represented by FC Dallas, Oklahoma City FC, SouthStar FC (Fort Worth), Texas Spurs (Dallas), and Tulsa Soccer Club.

SouthStar FC joined the league in 2019 and will compete in their second WPSL season. Messiah Bright won 2019  Red River Conference Offensive Player of the Year for SouthStar FC.

Tulsa Soccer Club joined the league as Fortuna Tulsa in 2018 and went undefeated in the 2019 season, securing a playoff appearance and reaching the Central Regional Finals.

FC Dallas has won the Red River North Division three times and went undefeated in the 2018 season. Three former players, Addie McCain (2018), Chelsee Washington (2018-19), and Katie Lund (2018-19), currently play in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). FC Dallas has an overall record of 51-10-6 and has outscored opponents 220/66.

Oklahoma City FC will play their thirteenth season and are the third Most Tenured Active WPSL Team after joining in 2008. OKC FC has made four playoff appearances, reaching the WPSL Semifinals three times, and holds an overall 84-25-15 record. Former player, Yazmeen Ryan was selected sixth overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft by Portland Thorns FC.

The season will kick off with a doubleheader on June 5 as Oklahoma City FC travels to FC Dallas and SouthStar FC hosts Tulsa Soccer Club. The Texas Spurs will open their schedule on the road as they travel to Tulsa Soccer Club.

The season will play through July 14 with each team playing four matches home and on the road.
