WPSL WELCOME MIDWEST SELECT SA FOR 2022 SEASON

THE WPSL WELCOMES MIDWEST SELECT SA FOR THE 2022 SEASON

 

 

ST. JOHN, Indiana – The Women’s Premier Soccer League announced today, Midwest Select SA will join the league for the 2022 season. With the announcement, the WPSL continues to expand within the Chicago metro area.

We are very honored to be a part of the WPSL,” Jamie McNicholas, Midwest Select SA co-owner and general manager said. “This league gives us a great platform to promote the women’s game in northwest Indiana and also provide a fun game day environment for all soccer families across our region.”


Midwest Select SA is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the development of women’s soccer in northwest Indiana. The club’s primary objective is to create opportunities for young women in their area to grow and develop into talented and dynamic athletes by equipping them with the necessary tools to excel both on-and-off the field.

 

The club will focus on establishing a strong, dependable foundation within their organization which aims to construct a competitive environment. This mission will allow their players to flourish and advance women’s soccer while empowering the younger generation in their region.
 

We know that the talent on the women’s side for the game here is something to be shouted about and this league [WPSL] gives our girls the opportunity to show that,” McNicholas said. “Hopefully we can empower the youth to follow in their footsteps.”


Midwest Select SA is committed to being active within their community by providing multiple opportunities that impact the surrounding youth players. The club will host soccer camps through the 2022 WPSL season which will allow those players to have one-on-one opportunities with Midwest players and coaches.

 

The club will play its 2022 home matches at Lake Central High School. The recently renovated stadium holds new turf, updated stands, locker rooms, and facilities. The stadium can also hold approximately 4,300 spectators. Ticket information will be made available upon the release of the 2022 schedule.

 

WPSL 2022 conference alignments will be announced at a later date.

In its 24th season, the WPSL is the longest active women’s soccer league and with more than 140 clubs from coast to coast in 35 states, serves as the largest women’s soccer league in the world. WPSL rosters feature elite collegiate, post-collegiate, international, and standout prep student-athletes. Many of the United States’ most accomplished women’s players have played in the WPSL, including household names such as Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Megan Rapinoe, Julie Foudy, and Brandi Chastain.
