THE WPSL NAMES ITS LATEST 2024 EXPANSION SIDE FROM EAST REGION

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Dec. 19, 2023) – The Women’s Premier Soccer League announced that Keystone FC has joined as an expansion side and will kick off its inaugural campaign in 2024.

“We are excited to move our team into the WPSL,” Sean Cochran, Keystone FC executive director, said. “Our homegrown club players are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to compete against some of the best teams and players in the region and in the country.”

Keystone FC was founded in 1980 as Mechanicsburg Soccer Club before new leadership rebranded to its current identity in 2015. During this time, its youth program has grown to over 70 youth teams and 1,600 players and was recently accepted into the Girls Academy league in 2023.

Keystone FC implements a player-centric model that embraces team-first values. This club strategy has directly contributed to its player development as over 70 players made collegiate commitments over the last four years to advance to the next level.

“We look forward to introducing the WPSL at the senior level on the women’s side,” Jeff Linnenbach, Keystone FC director of soccer, said. “We will continue to focus on providing our players the best experience possible from the training grounds to the game-day experience.”

Additionally, the club is dedicated to making a community impact by providing hundreds of player-hours in outreach and volunteer opportunities each year. With the introduction of its women’s senior WPSL team, Keystone FC will offer its 2024 home tickets at no charge while making its games open to the community.
