THE WPSL CONTINUES TO GROW IN UTAH MARKET


LOGAN, Utah (Jan. 12, 2024) – The Women’s Premier Soccer League officially welcomes Northern Utah United as its latest expansion side for the 2024 season. With the announcement, the League confirms continued growth in its Utah footprint.
 

"We are thrilled to take this step forward by joining the WPSL,” Chris Guymon, Northern Utah United board of directors’ president, said.


“This move reflects our ongoing commitment to elevate the standard of women's soccer in northern Utah and provide our players with a platform to showcase their talent at the highest level.”
 

Since its launch in 1987, Northern Utah United (NUU) has been committed to its mission of providing innovative player-development opportunities through a united culture between player, coach, and parent collaborations. Today, the club continues to prioritize youth development by providing aspiring players with top-tier pathways to success.
 

Northern Utah United’s decision to join the WPSL aligns with the club’s core values of providing opportunities and programs that help players and coaches reach their full potential. The club believes that competing in the WPSL will enhance its level of competition while opening doors for local players to showcase their skills on the national stage.
 

“The WPSL, known for its competitive play and commitment to advancing women’s soccer, aligns seamlessly with Northern Utah United’s vision for excellence on and off the field,” Guymon said.
 

For its inaugural season, Northern Utah United has named Darin Christensen as its head coach with Kirt Sadler and Jessica Evanson serving as assistant coaches.
 

Official alignments will be unveiled at the end of the month.
