COLORADO TRAINING ACADEMY JOINS THE WPSL

DENVER (Jan. 16, 2024) – The Women’s Premier Soccer League announces Premier Soccer Development Academy as an official member of its 2024 Roster of Teams. With the announcement, the club confirms it will compete under the PSD Academy branding.

“We are ecstatic to be affiliated with the WPSL for the upcoming season,” Sean D. Kelty, PSD Academy founder and executive director, said.

“After speaking with senior leadership of the WPSL, the purpose and vision of the WPSL seamlessly aligns with the intentions and execution of our program, which is the advancement of youth and women’s soccer through development and advanced opportunity.”

Since 2015, PSD Academy has created a supplemental training environment that services thousands of youth, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes nationwide. As a member of the WPSL, the club looks to enhance its programming by providing an established, highly competitive developmental platform to serve as a pathway from youth to collegiate and amateur to professional.

“We are elated that we are able to offer both our elite collegiate and high school athletes a professional, developmental, and progressive platform through both high-performance training and competition,” Kelty said.

“The WPSL is a leading advocate in women’s soccer in both North America and across the world through its programming, community involvement, and legitimate female player pathways. PSD Academy is determined and prepared to add to the history, tradition, and impact of our conference and the League.”

For its 2024 season, Kelty will lead PSD Academy as head coach. Kelty’s training and coaching resume includes premier youth athletes from Colorado and across the country, collegiate athletes who participate across all levels of NCAA and NAIA divisions, and professional athletes who have or currently play in the National Women’s Soccer League and Major League Soccer.

The WPSL’s official 2024 alignment will be announced in the coming weeks.
