BEADLING SOCCER CLUB  0-0  CORKTOWN WFC

Beadling Soccer Club (0-1-0) and Corktown WFC (0-1-0) each picked up a valuable point each to open the season playing to a 0-0 draw.

(8R) COLUMBUS EAGLES FC  4-1  (2/1) FC DAYTON

Columbus Eagles FC picked up a huge win to open the season topping No. 2 FC Dayton 4-1 at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio on the back of a Nikki Cox hat trick. After two Cox goals, Eleana Smith pulled a goal back for FC Dayton in the 56th minute. Cox bagged her third a minute later. Angela Boyce closed out the scoring in added time to make it 4-1.

Lake Erie Division

Sunday, May 18

RNY FC  4-1  NIAGARA 1812

RNY FC (1-0-0) picked up a huge 4-1 home win to open the season over Niagara 1812 (0-0-1). Maggie Cregan tallied a brace in the win. Maia MacLean put the visitors on the board first in the 14th minute. Niagara’s lead held into the second half when Caitlin Parker pulled the hosts level in the 47th minute. Cregan put RNY in the lead in the 65th minute; Avery Mondoux made it 3-1 in the 70th minute. Cregan closed out the scoring shortly before full time.

Commonwealth Division

Sunday, May 18

(18/6) PA CLASSICS  1-0  KEYSTONE FC

Liza Suydam scored the only goal of the match with 18 minutes to play to give PA Classics (1-0-0) a 1-0 home win to open the season over Keystone FC (0-0-1).

NORTHEASTERN CONFERENCE

Saturday, May 17

SPORTING CT  5-2  (10R) RI ROGUES FC

Sporting CT (1-0-0) made a statement in its WPSL debut, topping league veterans RI Rogues FC (0-0-1) with a come-back 5-2 win in Middletown, Conn. Things did not start out for the hosts in its home opener. Ryann Denecour put the visitors up in the third minute. Aubrey Kulpa pulled Sporting level in the 32nd minute, and Cristina Stone put the debutants up right before the halftime whistle. After Tori Sousa doubled Sporting’s lead in the 53rd minute, Magdalena Carpenter pulled the Rogues a goal back just a minute later. Tiffany Weimer made it 4-2 in the 68th minute, and Cara Jordan made it five for the hosts in the 74th minute.
