COX OPENS 2025 SEASON WITH HAT TRICK THAT

UPSETS THE NUMBER TWO-RANKED TEAM IN THE WPSL

 

In the biggest upset in the season so far, Nikki Cox tallied a hat trick in the Columbus Eagles FC’s 4-1 win over nationally ranked (2) FC Dayton. With goals in the 38’, 41’, and 57’, the Bowling Green alumna and Eagles veteran was credited with a relentless determination in front of goal that changed the face of the game. Cox played collegiately at Bowling Green University from 2018 through 2021. In 2024 Cox led the Great River Division with 10 goals, earning Player of the Week Honors during matchweek one.

FERGUS SHUTS OUT KC COURAGE TO GIVE SUNFLOWER STATE FC ITS FIRST WIN OVER THE CONFERENCE RIVAL

 

Maddox Fergus earned a clean sheet in Sunflower State FC’s season opening against a KC Courage side that tallied 2.4 goal/game last season. Fergus held off the Central Top 10 opponent for 90 minutes while supporting her offense with the buildup and tallying five saves on the night. Fergus is a sophomore at Johnson County Community College, where she was named a Junior College Division II All-American honors in 2024.
