OKLAHOMA CITY FC CLINCHES HEARTLAND DIVISION

With a 2-0 home win over cross-town rival, Side FC OKC on Monday, Oklahoma City FC clinched the Heartland Division title with two games remaining in its 2025 season schedule.

This is the sixth regular season title in the club’s 17-year WPSL tenure, and the first since 2017.

“With the quality of the players, coaches, and teams in our division, finishing first in the division with two games to play is a big achievement for everyone at the club,” Danny Gibson, Oklahoma City FC head coach, said.  “It’s a testament to all the hard work and preparation of everyone at the club.”

With seven wins, the only blemish on Oklahoma City’s record thus far is a 1-1 draw at second place Union KC to open Matchweek Six. Oklahoma City took all three points in the pivotal return match three days later, winning 4-1 in front of an appreciative home crowd. Leading scorer Narissa Fults scored twice in the win—once in the run of play and once from the penalty mark. Samantha Guzman, and Rylee McLanahan added goals in the match.

Oklahoma City has scored 28 goals to date, conceding five, leading the division in both categories. Fults has tallied seven goals to date, and remains in the Golden Boot race. Londynn Hagen has five, followed by Rylee McLanahan with four, and sisters Sabrina and Samantha Guzman with three each. McLanahan leads the club in assists with four so far this season.

Through its first eight games, Oklahoma City FC is proving to be one of the stingiest defenses in the entire WPSL. Goalkeepers Breanna Woote and Callie Sullivan share the duties backstopping with a combined goal against average of .625. The club has posted a total of four clean sheets, going 281 minutes to start the season before conceding a goal. In three starts, Woote has two clean sheets with two goals against for a .67 goal against average so far this season. To date, Sullivan has two clean sheets in five starts, with three goals against for a .6 goal against average.

“One of the main things we have been pleased about this season is our ability to build a squad with depth and the right mentality,” Gibson said. “This attitude provides a healthy competition within the group. They have all bought in and have a focus on one moment at a time, one game at a time with great results so far.”

Oklahoma City FC closes out its regular season home schedule Saturday hosting FC Wichita (2-3-3), and travels to face KC Courage (0-0-6) the following Saturday.

“We are very proud of this group and what they have achieved,” Randall Robison, Oklahoma City FC director of player personnel, said.. “Starting with our ownership group, to our front office and technical staff, we installed some new processes to make OKCFC the most professional experience in the WPSL. Our players wholly embraced this vision. Their on-field success is a testament to their commitment to our future.”

As Heartland Division Champions, Oklahoma City will host the winner of the Gateway Division in the Midwest Conference Final the first week of July. The Midwest Conference winner will host the Central Region Playoffs July 12 and 13. The Central Region winner advances to the WPSL Championship in Stillwater, Okla.
