ALL THREE MAC HERMANN TROPHY FINIALISTS WPSL ALUMNAE

Winner announced tomorrow

 

For the second consecutive year, a WPSL alumnae will be named as the top player in women’s college soccer when the 2025 Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy is awarded tomorrow night at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. 

 

It is the first time in the 28-season history of the WPSL that all three finalists: Jasmine Aikey (Stanford University), Jordynn Dudley (Florida State University), and Izzy Engle (University of Notre Dame) are WPSL alumnae.

 

Kate Faasse, the 2024 winner from the University of North Carolina, played in the 2023 and 2024 WPSL seasons for the Phoenix-based club, SC del Sol. 

 

Aikey, a versatile player who featured primarily as a forward for Stanford University in 2025, finishing third in the NCAA Division I in scoring with 21 goals and 11 assists. Aikey scored six goals in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, propelling Stanford to the College Cup final where it to Florida State University. In 2025 Aikey was named All-ACC first team, All-American, and TopDrawer Soccer National Player of the Year. She signed a professional contract the eve of the tomorrow evening’s announcement with NWSL expansion side, Denver Summit. Aikey featured for the MVLA Wolves in WPSL play in 2021.

Dudley, a forward from Milton Georgia, scored 11 goals and added a team-high 14 assists enroute to her second NCAA National Championship with Florida State University, scoring twice in FSU’s 4-1 quarterfinal win over Ohio State. Dudley scored 14 goals in the Seminoles championship run in 2023 during her freshman year. The following summer, Dudley led the UFA Gunners in scoring in 2024 with five goals, earning All-Southeast Conference honors.

Engle, a sophomore from Edina, Minn. where she featured in the WPSL for the Minnesota Thunder from 2021 through 2024, tallied 19 goals to help the Fighting Irish to the No. 1 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Engle was named All-ACC and first team All-American, and ACC Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Elsie Evans - Bay Area Surf 2021: Stanford University
Lia Godfrey - United Soccer Alliance 2021: University of Virginia
Leah Klenke - AHFC Royals 2021, '22, '23: University of Notre Dame
Hope Leyba - Royals AZ 2025, '23: University of Colorado

 

Past WPSL alumnae MAC Hermann Trophy winners include Faasse (2024), and Catarina Marcario (Stanford University, 2018 and 2019), who featured in the WPSL for the San Diego SeaLions in 2018 and 2019, and Jaelin Howell, (Florida State University: 2020 and 2021), who played in the WPSL for Motor City FC in 2021.
