OKLAHOMA CITY (July 21, 2026) - Eleven players from the final four teams competing in 2026 WPSL Championships were named to the WPSL All-National team after semifinal and final performances last weekend in Kansas City. Seven WPSL All-National honorees were also named to their respective All-Region teams on July 14 after regional playoffs.
Kansas City Current II’s Avery Clark took home Most Outstanding Player after securing Current’s place in the WPSL Championships Final with a goal in the 2-0 win over California Storm and netting the gamewinner over New York Athletic Club to win the Jerry Zanelli Cup.
Naila Schoefberger collected the Most Outstanding Defensive Player award on the strength of her defensive heroics that led to two shutouts in the Current’s II championship run, including performances against California Storm (avg. 4.0 goals per game) in the semifinal and New York Athletic Club (avg. 3.25 goals per game) in the final. Schoefberger led a Current II defense that did not allow a single goal in 189 minutes enroute to its first WPSL title.
