OKLAHOMA CITY (March 4, 2026) — The Women’s Premier Soccer League announces Aggies FC as the fifth Rockies Division club for the 2026 WPSL Season. The announcement marks the first debut of pre-professional soccer in talent-rich Fort Collins, where WPSL alumnae and USWNT players Jaylen Howell and Sophia Wilson began their soccer journeys with the local youth club.
“We built this club from the ground up for the neglected fanbase in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado. Going to see an Aggies FC game will be a can’t miss event for serious and casual soccer fans alike,” Scott Westcoat, Aggies FC founder and chairman, said.
Aggies FC became a reality in early 2026 thanks to a partnership with Colorado State University, located in the heart of the booming city more than 170,000 call home. Through the partnership, Aggies FC will play and train at the Women’s Soccer Complex on campus and feature the university’s historic colors and iconology.
Aggies FC is led by head coach Jayme “Beamer” Halsey in its inaugural season, bringing vast experience as a player and coach to Aggies FC technical area. After a collegiate career at Adelphi and George Mason, she went on to feature for six seasons (1999-2006) in the first iteration of the USL W-League before moving into the coaching ranks, where she has coached at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. Along with her Aggies FC coaching duties, she serves as a director of coaching for the city’s youth program, Arsenal Colorado.
“With a team of current college stand-outs, former and future professional players all competing on a national platform, it raises the standard across the board—for the players, coaching staff, and the entire Fort Collins soccer community,” Halsey said. “Young players can see women competing at an elite level up close. They can attend games, interact with players, and aspire to those roles.”
Aggies FC will play its debut WPSL season in the realigned Rockies Division, joining the Desert and Wasatch divisions to make up the Mountain West Conference, returning the Colorado and Utah-based teams back to the West Region.
The 28th WPSL season kicks off May 4, culminating with the WPSL Championships July 17-19. The full 2026 WPSL schedule will be announced March 17.
