OKLAHOMA CITY (May 21, 2026) - Rylee Lewis, Amalia Dray, and Taylor Thomas were named National Players of the Week from Week Two of WPSL play presented by Global Scarves.
Rylee Lewis set the stage for Southern California Eagles’ 2026 campaign after a brace propelled the Eagles to a huge 2-1 win to kick off its third season in the league. The UC Riverside senior recorded 80 minutes on field and scored the opening goal in stoppage time of the first half before doubling the Eagles’ lead in the 67th minute.
“She [Lewis] was a hard worker and had grit from the start,” Ali Malaekeh, Southern California Eagles head coach, said. “With no training this week and straight into games this weekend, it took resilience, adaptability, and leadership to step up under pressure.”
Boston College senior Amalia Dray was a key component to Chicago House AC’s back line and limited the Bavarians to a single goal in the hard fought draw of Week Two. Dray played all 90 minutes of the match, making nine defensive stops while winning over ten 1v1 duals. After falling in both meetings to the Bavarians in 2025, Dray led Chicago to a huge draw result, earning a big point on the road.
Taylor Thomas was just the weapon FC Dayton needed to finally defeat the division powerhouse Columbus Eagles, who won both meetings in 2025 on an undefeated season. The Xavier junior made six crucial saves to keep the Eagles off the board and secure three huge points on the road to set the tone for 2026. As team captain, Thomas guarded the net the full 90 minutes and earned the clean sheet in the 1-0 victory.
