OKLAHOMA CITY (May 14, 2026) - The Women’s Premier Soccer League named its Global Scarves National Players of the Week following the Week One of the 2026 season.
California Storm’s Dalia Asad earned National Offensive Player of the Week, while Black Diamond FC’s Hannah Roe secured National Defensive Player of the Week. Brooke Hancock of West Florida Flames Academy claimed National Goalkeeper of the Week.
In her first game with the Storm, incoming University of San Francisco freshman, Dalia Asad made a lasting impression on the West Region heavyweights in just 45 minutes of play. Asad’s impact secured a 6-0 win at home by contributing a brace with goals in the 26thand 50th minutes.
“She was dominant with her incredible skill work in the middle of the field, making big time tackles and scoring two great goals,” Jamie Levoy, California Storm executive director, said.
Georgia State junior Hannah Roe proved to be a leading impact for Black Diamond FC with contributions on both sides of the ball. Defensively, Roe helped Black Diamond secure a clean sheet in its 3-0 over City SC Utah to open the season, winning six tackles and anchoring the backline. The outside back also provided a strong offensive presence with scoring the opening goal, tallying an assist, and causing an own-goal.
In her debut, Brooke Hancock helped West Florida Flames to its first win by earning a clean sheet in the 2-0 victory at home. The high schooler played the full 90 minutes and made eight big saves to prevent Bay City Reign from scoring while also contributing to the Flames momentum through distribution out of the back.
