By: Oklahoma City FC

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (June 18, 2026) — Side FC 92 Tulsa pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the WPSL season Thursday night, ending a 15-match winless streak with a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma City FC at Kirkland Athletic Complex.

The loss marked Oklahoma City FC’s second consecutive shutout defeat after starting the season with five wins. For Side FC 92 Tulsa (1-5-1), the victory was its first since the club’s inaugural WPSL match on May 25, 2024.

The result significantly altered the Heartland Division race as Oklahoma City FC ‘s (5-2-0) room for error is thin in efforts to defend its 2025 division and conference titles. Union KC (5-1-1, 16 points) remains atop the standings, one point ahead of Oklahoma City FC (15 points) and two clear of Kansas City Current II (4-0-2, 14 points).

The ScissorTails return home for a pivotal divisional matchup against Kansas City Current II at Mustang High School. The 7:05 p.m. kickoff carries major playoff implications, with Oklahoma City needing a victory to strengthen its postseason position.

Side FC 92 Tulsa scored the lone goal in the 32nd minute when Genesis Helsley created space along the right side of the penalty area and delivered a cross to the far post, where Maya Ido finished from close range past Oklahoma City FC goalkeeper Callie Sullivan.

Despite controlling possession for much of the evening, Oklahoma City FC struggled to break down Tulsa’s defensive shape and generated few quality scoring chances.

The offensive drought is becoming a concern for the ScissorTails, who have now gone two full matches without producing a goal after opening the season with 16 in their initial five outings.
