DAVIS, Calif. — Sporting CT are the inaugural Brandi Chastain Cup champions, topping the California Surf in penalty kicks Saturday evening at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex. Gabriella Tirado’s goal in the third minute of added time and her second on the night, pulled the 2025 WPSL Champions level at 2-2. Kelee Carlos converted her kick from the penalty spot to give Sporting CT the title.
The game was a rematch of the 2025 WPSL Championships Final Sporting won 4-0.
Playing on its home field, Storm took early control of the match. Savannah Schwarze scored goals in the 14th and 19th minutes to give the 2022 and 2024 WPSL champions.
Tirado scored in the 84th minute to make it 2-1 before smashing her second of the night in the 90+3 minute to send the game to kicks from the mark.
