As the third most tenured club in the WPSL, New York Athletic Club has just about seen it all. So, when last year’s Metropolitan Conference winner, Clarkstown Soccer Club, came calling at Asphalt Green, NYAC’s Upper East Side home ground carrying the longest winning streak in WPSL history at 32 regular season games, NYAC was going to make it difficult for Clarkstown to get in 33.
NYAC was on a bit of a streak itself, having won the first two games of the 2026 season: opening the season with a 4-1 road win versus New York Dutch Lions, followed by a 4-0 win at Asphalt Green a week later over perennial Metropolitan Conference contenders, STA.

When all was said and done last Saturday, it was NYAC’s streak that continued—and continues—after the club’s history-making 3-2 win over Clarkstown, earning NYAC Week Six Team of the Week presented by SOMETHINGINKED honors.
“This squad is characterized by commitment, quality, and depth,” Brian Simpson, NYAC head coach, said. “Beating a previously unstoppable Clarkstown signifies that this is a club chasing history.”
Dylan Jovanovic, a junior at Princeton University and herself, a WPSL veteran, playing in her third season in the league, tallied a hat trick to put the home side in the lead, scoring in the 11th, 17th, and 56th minutes to give NYAC a 3-0 lead.
Clarkstown wasn’t going to go down without a fight, though, clawing back two goals in the final 10 minutes of the match. But it was ultimately NYAC’s day. As was the next.
Less than 24 hours after ending Clarkstown’s streak, NYAC extended two of its own streaks with a 5-0 win at Asphalt Green over Force FC New York.

Extending her scoring streak to four games, Jovanovic tallied her seventh goal of the season in the 10th minute to make it 1-0. Emily Gibbins made it 2-0 in the 17, Josie Tunney scored right before the half to make it 3-0, and Kelly Ann Livingston and Kierra Krawic added second half goals to close out the game. Goalkeeper Annabelle Adams backstopped the defense, earning the club's second clean sheet on the season.
Simpson credits the diversity of his squad for its success as it looks to capture its first Metropolitan Conference title.
“This season’s side is a mix of experience and youth,” he said. The youngsters, including Nicole Patino, Caelan Bacon, and Victoria Vinals are contributing massively to the team. We also have Emily Smill, Kelly Ann Livingston, and Tatiana Saunders, who have retired from the pro game over the last few years and are now anchoring our defense.”
The third most tenured club after founding sides California Storm and San Francisco Nighthawks, NYAC joined the WPSL in 2006, winning the Mid-Atlantic Division in 2012, Tri-State Division in 2013 and 2024, and the Mid-Atlantic Conference in 2026. In five East Region Playoffs appearances, NYAC has yet to advance past an East Region Final.
NYAC takes to the road for Week Seven with another set of back-to-back games, facing Brooklyn City F.C. on Saturday at Brooklyn College, and travels out to Long Island to face SUSA FC on Sunday.
NYAC wraps up regular season play Sunday, June 28 hosting SUSA at Asphalt Green, the day after it travels to Bardonia for the return match versus Clarkstown.
