Texas Lone Star S.C. at Austin Rise FC

June 15, 2026

AUSTIN, Texas (June 14, 2026) — Texas Lone Star S.C. secured a historic 2-1 victory over previously undefeated Austin Rise on Sunday evening in Austin, marking a significant milestone for the club's inaugural season in the Women's Premier Soccer League's competitive Lone Star Conference.

Following recent changes within the coaching staff and featuring a young roster that included numerous players making either their club debut or only their second appearance for Texas Lone Star S.C., the squad delivered a resilient and determined performance against one of the league's top programs.

The victory was particularly meaningful considering Texas Lone Star S.C. had opened its inaugural WPSL season with a 6-0 defeat to Austin Rise just weeks earlier.

"We are proud of our girls, and we were confident in the methodology and tactical adjustments that were made for the level required in such a competitive league," Brad Namdar, general manager and newly appointed head coach, said. "We also can't say enough positive things about Austin Rise. They are a great program with talented players and coaches. Our team showed tremendous character, discipline, and belief throughout the match."

The result demonstrated the growth and resilience of a young Texas Lone Star S.C. squad that has continued to develop throughout the season.

"As a new franchise, going against one of the most talented teams in the league, we didn't get the result we wanted in our inaugural match," Pia Lara Namdar, Texas Lone Star S.C. principal owner, said. "Despite that loss, we trusted in our girls, trusted in the process, and this win means a lot to our program. It validates the hard work, commitment, and belief that all of our players and staff have shown every day."

Co-Owner Ryan Moore echoed those sentiments, emphasizing the significance of the victory for the club's future.

"We can't say enough good things about our girls and the symbolism of this win," Moore said. "This result reflects the determination of our players and the culture we are building at Texas Lone Star S.C. It is an important step forward for our organization."

The victory serves as another milestone for the rapidly growing club, which launched its inaugural WPSL campaign in 2026 and continues to establish itself as one of the newest organizations in women's soccer with rapid growth in both the indoor and outdoor game.

Texas Lone Star S.C. will look to build on the momentum this Saturday when the club hosts the Fort Worth Vaqueras at Naaman Forest High School in Garland, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and fans are encouraged to attend and support the Texas Lone Stars as they look to get an important win versus Ft. Worth.
