GARLAND, Texas — Texas Lone Star S.C. continued its remarkable growth and development in its inaugural season in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), Lone Star Conference, earning a dramatic 1-1 draw against the Fort Worth Vaqueras on Saturday evening.
Just weeks after suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat to the Vaqueras, Texas Lone Star S.C. demonstrated its progress and resilience by battling back to earn a valuable point at home. Building on the momentum of last week’s impressive 2-1 victory over last year's conference champions, Austin Rise, Lone Star once again showed determination and character, finding the equalizer in the 90th minute.
The late goal was scored by Gracie Spradley, whose clutch finish secured the result and sent the home supporters and Texas Lone Star bench into celebration.
The club recognized two players as co-MVPs of the match for their outstanding performances.
Bailee Bisson, a 17-year-old goalkeeper and University of Missouri commit entering her senior year of high school, delivered another commanding performance between the posts, making several key saves to keep Texas Lone Star within striking distance throughout the match.
Joining Bisson as co-MVP was central defender Kennedy Green, who helped anchor the back line with a dominant defensive display. Green recorded two tackles, four shot blocks, and made two critical goal-line clearances that preserved the result and showcased her defensive qualities and composure under pressure.
Team Principal Owner Pia Lara Namdar praised the team’s effort and determination.
“I am so proud of our girls never giving up, and when you don’t give up, things happen,” said Namdar.
Co-Owner Ryan Moore highlighted both the atmosphere and the team’s continued development.
“I love seeing the fans enjoying the games, the girls playing hard every game for each other, and producing positive results in our first season in the WPSL Lone Star Conference,” Moore said.
General Manager, Sporting Director, and Head Coach Brad Namdar, who earned a 2-1 victory over Austin Rise in his head coaching debut the previous week, emphasized the long-term vision of the club.
“We have one of the youngest rosters in the WPSL orbit, and our goal is to play to win, challenge our opponents in a manner that helps our players grow, and establish a team that didn’t simply compete this season, but produced positive results in our inaugural season,” said Namdar.
With the draw, Texas Lone Star S.C. continues to build confidence and momentum as the club prepares for its next challenge against one of the conference’s most established programs. The Texas Lone Stars will now travel to face conference veterans FC Dallas Women on Tuesday in a key Lone Star Conference matchup.
As a first-year franchise competing against some of the region’s most experienced clubs, Texas Lone Star S.C. continues to demonstrate that its young roster is capable of competing at a high level while laying the foundation for long-term success.
