OKLAHOMA CITY (June 25, 2026) - Marian Dunne, Kelly Gerwitz, and Allison Nebelsick were named National Players of the Week after delivering standout performances in Week Seven propelling their clubs to critical results respectively. The Women’s Premier Soccer League Player of the Week awards are presented by Global Scarves.
Marian Dunne, F, Portland Thorns FC II
Marine Dunne earns National Offensive Player of the Week after a high-scoring performance that led Portland Thorns FC II to two big wins outscoring its opponents 13-to-zero. Despite limited minutes with her return from injury, the Rutgers' freshman in the fall contributed to seven of Portland’s 13 goals on the week. Dunne currently leads both the Pac Northwest and Portland in scoring.
Kelly Gerwitz, D, San Francisco Nighthawks
In her return to the Nighthawks’ back line after missing the previous two contests, captain Kelly Gerwitz led the ‘Hawks back to the win column in a crucial head-to-head against a division contender. Coming off back-to-back losses in Week Six, Gerwitz’s defensive impact was just what the Nighthawks needed to stay alive in the Central Valley title race with hopes of a postseason berth on the line, earning National Defensive Player of the Week.
Allison Nebelsick, Junction FC
Allison Nebelsick captures National Goalkeeper of the Week after earning Junction FC’s first shutout and second win of the season. Defending the goal for the full 90 minutes, the Blackburn College freshman made three crucial saves to keep Missouri Rush’s off the score sheet.
