FRISCO, TEXAS (January 30, 2026) — The Women’s Premier Soccer League announced the alignment for its 28th season of play at its Annual General Meeting at Toyota Stadium Friday Night.
2026 WPSL Season:
The full slate of 2026 WPSL matches will be announced mid-March, with the season to kick off in May.
The Central Region saw considerable change from the 2025 season with the addition of the Lake Shore Conference featuring teams from the Chicago and Milwaukee areas. The Lake Shore Conference replaces the Mountain Conference, which returns to the West Region. Thirty teams make up the Central Region for 2026, including the 2025 Central Region champions, St. Croix Legacy. The Central Region welcomed Texas Lone Star FC, which will compete in the Lone Star Conference, as the region’s lone expansion side for 2026. The Northen Conference will host the 2026 Central Region playoffs.

Six new clubs: Michigan Rangers FC, Kensington Soccer Club, Love City SA, CT Rush, Inter Connecticut FC, and Vale SC are among the 41 teams vying for the East Region crown and a berth in the 2026 WPSL Championships in July. The Mid-Atlantic Conference will host the 2026 East Region Playoffs.

A reconfigured conference line-up will shake things up in the 32-team South Region in 2026. Florida-based teams from last-year’s Sunshine Conference join the Gulf Coast Conference while clubs from the Mississippi Delta area move into a conference of their own. WPSL Championships semifinalists, Chattanooga FC return to defend its South Region crown, along with 2025 conference winners DECATUR FC and LA Crewe Rush. Joining the region for inaugural WPSL seasons are District Elite FC, Valdosta FC, Little Rock Rangers SC, while returning clubs NCFC and Arlington Soccer will join Pensacola FC in fielding multiple teams. The Southeast Conference will host the 2026 South Region Playoffs.

With the return of Colorado and Utah-based teams, the 41-team West Region will see a competitive shift with the newly configured Mountain West, and NorCal conferences. Five-time WPSL champions, California Storm, look to defend its NorCal Conference and West Region titles as it looks to avenge the upset loss in the 2025 WPSL Championships final. Making their WPSL debuts in 2026 are Aggies FC, Elevation FC, Fuego Femenil, and Yuba Football Club. The NorCal Conference will host the 2026 West Region Playoffs.
